How Ratings Work

Your MatchMode rating is built from verified tournament results only - no self-reported matches, no manual entry.

Starts at 1500

Every player begins at 1500. Beat someone rated higher and you gain more. Lose to someone lower and you drop more.

K-factor moves fast early, stabilises later

Under 10 matches: K=40 (moves up to ~25 pts per win). 10–30 matches: K=25. Over 30 matches: K=16. Your rating earns stability over time.

Each category is independent

Your Men's Singles Open rating and your Doubles 35+ rating are completely separate. Performance in one never affects the other.

Rating Confidence Levels

Low (1–4 matches): Still settling. Play more tournaments to lock in your rating.
Medium (5–14 matches): Reasonably reliable. Reflects your established level.
High (15+ matches): Battle-tested. Accurately represents sustained performance.
